"Did you even look in her wardrobe?" Mannie was being gruff as Sadie listened from another room. She wanted to leave, but where would she go?
There was an awful throbbing pain in her back. Perhaps, new tattoos were growing. Could the map on her back be changing? She winced hard, thinking she didn't even have the energy to even make the adventure that Mannie was planning, but she had no choice. She could only hope the pain would suppress once they got where they were going.
"You said nothing about bringing her clothes," Liam reminded him they were only there for the cat. He thought it was best if they just brought the cat here.
Sadie peaked around the corner. "Yes, please bring me, my Hilda." She spoke up as if she really needed her furbaby.
Mannie only gave her a stern look as if he didn't like the idea. "We should already be there." He looked back at Liam with his fist on his hips. There was something gallant about him, but Sadie still wasn't sure if she completely trusted him.
It was true, the last few days he'd fed her, let her sleep and recuperate from this condition she was in. Yet, wasn't he the one who put her in this predicament all along?
Finally, with a festered frown he told Liam to get the cat. Sadie sighed with relief. She guessed it would be OK. Although, Hilda wasn't really a traveling cat. Indoors was all she knew and what if she didn't like it here?
Sadie pulled herself up. She was in one of Mannie's white tanks and a pair of Liam's khakis. She looked at the tank wondering who wore stuff like this anymore. It looked like something gangsters wore. She winced as she went to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. Sadie winced hard and noticed something like a tattoo of a dragon tail inching up her neck. Honestly, she felt as if her skin was on fire.
She looked for the leather hiking boots by the bed that was also Liam's. It was settled she'd wear two pairs of socks and get ready. But she wondered if Liam could stop by the drug store and make sure she had plenty of OLAY for the trip.
"Just let me see Hilda and then we will go," Sadie of course mentioned how she really needed to keep a schedule with her skin regiment. And what was he going to do about the map on her back? Would it always be there?
Well done!

I loved the chapter. What interesting tattoos that appear, but it must be awful not knowing which one will emerge.
